POF indoor network
The POF indoor network from Innovience International is built up from the central point near the fuse box in the utility cabinet in the house. This is normally also the place where the broadband connection enters the house and the modem (DSL, cable) or the CPE (FttH) of the broadband provider is located.
The RJ45 connector of the modem/CPE is connected to the RJ45 connector of the OptoXS™ Switch. The OptoXS™ Switch has 4 or more POF ports, and depending on the number of outgoing POF cables, more than 1 POF Switch can be used to connect to all outlets in the house. This can be visualized as follows.
Easy installation: colocate the OptoXS™ optical cabling with existing wiring
The wiring of the OptoXS™ optical cabling can easily be done by colocating it with the electrical wiring. In that way it is possible to get an optical cable in every power outlet that is selected as a data outlet.
The existing cover plate of the power outlet is modified by drilling two small holes at the proper location, this providing the interface to the OptoXS™ modules.
Additional benefit of the thin POF cable and the separate OptoXS™ modules is that there is no need to drill or mill in the walls. That makes our solution optimal in existing as well as new buildings and in renovation projects. Besides this, the OptoXS™ modules design blends in perfectly in any interior.
